What the RBQ license guarantees
Compliance with Quebec construction codes. Coverage by a license bond. Established professional liability. Recourse available to the client in case of dispute. The license is a prerequisite for commercial and institutional mandates that require regulatory compliance.
Why certifications matter on a door mandate
Architects, contractors and owners require products that meet current standards: fire resistance, thermal performance and structural stability. We meet these requirements through verifiable accreditations and, when the mandate calls for it, compliance certificates delivered with each shipment.
RBQ license 5585-4012-01 issued by the Régie du bâtiment du Québec
The RBQ license confirms that we meet Quebec’s regulatory requirements for the manufacture and installation of building products. It is publicly verifiable on the Régie du bâtiment registry.
Doors compliant with ULC 20, 45 and 90 minute standards
Commercial and institutional mandates require fire-resistant doors. Our teams build doors tested and certified to ULC standards for the three most-requested resistance levels.
-
ULC 20, 45 and 90 minutes
ULC 20 minutes: 20-minute fire resistance. Suited to corridors, offices and standard commercial spaces. ULC 45 minutes: extended resistance. Required for stairwells, fire separations and institutional buildings. ULC 90 minutes: high-duration resistance for the most demanding mandates. Compliance certificates are supplied with delivery for every fire-rated door ordered.

Frequently asked questions about compliance
Architects, managers and owners ask roughly the same five questions about the compliance of our doors. Here are the answers, with the supporting reference documents.
Yes. Each fire-rated door comes with a ULC compliance certificate stating the resistance level (20, 45 or 90 minutes), dimensions and serial number. This document is required for building inspections.
Yes. License 5585-4012-01 is available on the public registry of the Régie du bâtiment du Québec. The registry confirms the license’s active status, the covered categories and the current bond.
Generally, no. Residential doors are not subject to fire-rating requirements except in certain contexts (condominiums, multi-unit buildings, attached garages depending on the municipal code). We verify the requirements applicable to the mandate during the initial consultation.
Solid wood doors offer thermal insulation naturally superior to steel. To date, we do not hold a formal Energy Star certification.
