Wood wall paneling

Turning a wall into an architectural signature

Decorative panels, wainscoting and wood wall coverings in noble wood. Built to order in our St-Eustache workshop for homes and commercial spaces.

MICHELENA wall paneling

When the wall becomes the focal point of the room

Wood wall paneling turns a flat surface into an architectural element. The texture of the grain, the depth of the tone and the play of light on the panels create an atmosphere that no painted finish or wallpaper can reproduce. At MICHELENA, wall coverings receive the same treatment as our doors and millwork. Same species, same finishes, same workshop. From classic wainscoting to a contemporary panel with geometric patterns, the wall becomes the canvas on which the wood expresses itself.

Materials and profiles

The wall as an architectural element

Depending on the wall’s scale and the budget, paneling can be built entirely in solid wood or in noble wood veneer on a support panel. Both approaches deliver the same visual result. Solid wood adds the tactile dimension and the grain depth that veneer cannot reproduce at the same scale.

  • Profiles and patterns available

Vertical or horizontal wainscoting. Framed panels and raised panels. Geometric patterns (chevron, diamond, fluted). Flat surfaces with invisible joints. The profile is set by the room’s architectural style and the direction of natural light. Species available: white oak, black walnut, sapele mahogany and clear pine.

Features

Included with every custom wall paneling project

The mandate covers design, panel manufacturing and coordination with the installer or general contractor.

  • Noble wood panels or veneer on MDF support
  • Profile and pattern designed to the architecture of the room
  • Finish resistant to wear and interior UV
  • Hidden fixation system (clips or rail)
  • LED lighting integratable behind or between panels
  • Coordination with adjacent elements (doors, framing, moldings)
Advantages

Why dress a wall in wood rather than paint or wallpaper

Paint and wallpaper cover a wall. Wood transforms it.

Acoustic dimension

Wood panels absorb sound and reduce reverberation. In an open living room, a restaurant or a conference room, this property improves conversation comfort with no visible acoustic treatment.

Durability and minimal maintenance

Where paint flakes and wallpaper peels, wood ages with grace. Gentle cleaning and a finish touch-up every 5 to 10 years are enough. No stripping, no re-hanging.

Lasting added value

A noble wood wall raises the perceived value of the room and the property. It is a visible investment that stands out at resale or reinforces the image of a commercial space.

Process

From design to panel installation

Four steps to dress a wall in noble wood.

01
Visit and measurement

Measurement of the wall, assessment of natural light and discussion of the desired style. Photos and plans of the room welcome.

02
Pattern design

Technical drawing of the profile and pattern. Presentation of species and finish samples. Validation of panel orientation and lighting integration.

03
Manufacturing

Wall panels are built in a batch to preserve grain continuity from one panel to the next. The fixation system (clips or rail) is integrated on the back during manufacturing, and the finish is applied before delivery to avoid extra handling on site.

04
Installation and adjustments

Installation by our team or coordination with the general contractor. Hidden fixation, lighting hookup and adjustments at junctions with adjacent elements.

Frequently asked questions

Wood wall paneling, what to decide upfront

Four technical choices come before wood wall paneling: solid or veneer, humidity compatibility, harmony with existing doors, fixation method. Here is how each is resolved.
