About MICHELENA

More than 20 years shaping wood for architecture

Quebec manufacturer of architectural doors and custom millwork. The story of a workshop built on precision and a passion for the material.

Our story

A workshop founded on a conviction

MICHELENA was born of a simple conviction. Quebec deserves a wood door manufacturer that can match the best workshops in North America. Since its founding, the team has grown without ever drifting from that ambition. Every door, every cabinet and every wall panel that leaves our hands carries the same standard as the very first order.

Under one roof

Where craft and technology meet

The St-Eustache workshop brings manufacturing equipment and artisan know-how together under one roof. The entire process, from cut to finish, is carried out in-house, fully in Quebec.

  • Artisans and technology, no compromise

Tool precision and artisan judgment combine to produce doors and millwork at a level that fully automated industry alone cannot reach. Every piece is conceived, shaped and finished to the same standard.

Our values

Three principles that guide every order

These values are not slogans. They show up in the quality of the product delivered.

Precision without shortcut

No manufacturing step is subcontracted or rushed. From species selection to the last finishing coat, the process runs its course. Quality is not traded for speed.

Mastery of the material

Wood is a living material that reacts to humidity, temperature and time. Every manufacturing decision accounts for that behavior. The result is a stable product that ages with grace.

Responsibility end to end

From the first exchange to post-installation follow-up. One workshop, one point of contact. If an adjustment is needed, it is made. No intermediary, no administrative delay.

Our team

Leadership that unites business vision and mastery of the craft

MICHELENA’s strength lies as much in its leadership as in its workshop. From it come the most ambitious projects, carried out with the refinement that only luxury demands.

François Michelena is the founder and president of MICHELENA, with more than 25 years of experience in the design and manufacture of custom doors, architectural cabinetry and high-end solutions for residential and commercial clients. Passionate about design and innovation, François combines artisanal craftsmanship, technical expertise and a keen sense of detail to create unique, functional projects. Under his leadership, MICHELENA has established itself as a Canadian leader in architectural luxury, recognized for its quality, precision and exceptional client experience. Early in his cabinetmaking career, François spent a short period of three years at Charlebois & fils, a fourth-generation company founded in 1899. By the end of that time, François disagreed with the owner’s vision on quality, which led him to start his own company, built on values of quality and service that have defined MICHELENA’s strength for the past 20 years. Having learned a great deal during those three years, he knew what to do, and what not to do, in a world where clients seek near-perfection.
